1000 Paid Internship Opportunities Open At Ministry of Education. The Ministry of Education is offering 1000 paid internships through its Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) for 2025/26. This exciting opportunity allows diploma and degree graduates to gain hands-on experience while advancing Kenya’s digital learning initiatives in public primary schools.

Background & Job Description

The Government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Education and the State Department for Basic Education, has announced 1000 internship opportunities under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP). This fourth cohort aims to support ICT integration in primary schools by equipping interns with practical experience in digital education.

Interns will be deployed to Sub County Education Offices and schools nationwide, helping to implement and expand e-learning tools, train educators, and promote the use of technology in teaching and learning. This 12-month internship supports the goals of Kenya Vision 2030 and the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Tasks

  • Support digital learning and content development in classrooms
  • Assist primary school teachers in using digital devices
  • Maintain ICT equipment and offer technical support
  • Help integrate technology into teaching, assessment, and administration
  • Promote safe, ethical use of digital tools
  • Participate in innovation and development of school tech policies
  • Support training workshops and educational tech initiatives

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from a recognized institution

Experience

  • No prior experience required, but candidates must demonstrate interest in ICT, digital education, and innovation

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Capable of working independently in diverse learning environments
  • Willingness to be deployed anywhere in Kenya
