AgriSETA, a sector education and training authority in South Africa, is offering two internship positions for graduates in Supply Chain Management or Logistics. About the Internship Programme
AgriSETA’s Supply Chain Management Internship is structured to provide practical exposure to procurement operations, logistics coordination, travel management, and bid administration. Interns will work under the guidance of the Assistant Manager: Supply Chain Management, supporting daily SCM functions and compliance efforts.
Responsibilities
Procurement
- Source quotations from Central Supplier Database vendors
- Prepare RFQ comparative schedules and submit recommendations
- Generate and distribute purchase orders
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and policy thresholds
- Manage supplier delivery follow-ups and SLA processes
Bid Administration
- Support Bid Committee meetings and ensure documentation compliance
- Render secretariat services and assist in administrative tasks
Logistics Management
- Monitor and replenish stationery and grocery stock
- Conduct monthly stock-takes and maintain audit records
- Distribute supplies and manage requests
Travel Arrangements
- Coordinate travel bookings and resolve after-hours travel queries
- Address internal and external travel-related inquiries
Reporting
- Submit procurement reports and RFQ registers on time
- Ensure accurate documentation of procurement activity
Other Duties
- Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned
- Interact with both internal departments and external stakeholders such as DHET, DOL, and service providers
Minimum Requirements
Education
- National Diploma or Degree (NQF 6) in:
- Supply Chain Management
- Logistics
- Or equivalent qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric)
Skills & Competencies
- No prior work experience required
- Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel)
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
