The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN’s global sustainable development organization, operating in 170 countries with a mission to end poverty, build democratic governance, the rule of law, and inclusive institutions. Since launching its first Digital Strategy in 2019, UNDP has been on an ambitious transformation journey to harness digital technology for development. The Chief Digital Office (CDO) leads this effort, focusing on embedding digital technology in UNDP’s development projects, supporting government partners in building inclusive digital ecosystems, and transforming the organization internally. The Digital Transformation Internship offers a chance to directly contribute to these strategic goals, providing practical experience in a dynamic international environment committed to digital-first solutions for global challenges.


Tasks

Interns will contribute to UNDP’s digital transformation efforts, which may involve:

  • Supporting the integration of digital technology in development projects.
  • Assisting in efforts to build inclusive digital ecosystems with government partners.
  • Contributing to the internal digital transformation of UNDP operations.
  • Potentially supporting tasks related to the development of national data strategies and data governance frameworks.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (undergraduate; minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
  • Have graduated with a university degree (first university degree, or second university degree or equivalent, or higher) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
