Michaelhouse, a leading all-boys full-time boarding school in KwaZulu-Natal, is inviting aspiring teachers to apply for its 2026 Teacher Internship Programme. This holistic programme aims to mentor and develop the next generation of great educators by immersing them fully in all aspects of school life.

Interns will live on campus and actively participate in academics, pastoral care, cultural life, sport, and community outreach—all while receiving professional support and mentorship.
Tasks
Intern responsibilities include:
- Teaching practice in academic departments
- Active involvement in boarding house life, including tutoring and bus duties
- Coaching various school sports year-round
- Participation in cultural programmes and school societies
- Engagement in community outreach initiatives
- Working with a mentor to develop a personal performance and growth plan
Qualifications
Education:
- Currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Senior & FET Phase) or another degree with the intention of completing a PGCE
- Must be 21 years or older
Additional Requirements:
- A clear criminal clearance certificate
- Strong alignment with Christian values: Integrity, Humility, Compassion, Courage, Service
- Demonstrated interest in teaching and holistic education
- Ability and willingness to contribute to sports, cultural, or outdoor education activities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Note: As this is a full boarding school, preference will be given to male candidates, due to residential requirements.
