Background & Job Description

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a Blockchain for Development Analyst to support the SDG Blockchain Accelerator program. This initiative, in collaboration with the Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA) and Emurgo Labs, aims to utilize blockchain for innovative solutions addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The role involves managing the accelerator and the UNDP Blockchain Academy, fostering a vibrant blockchain ecosystem, and building strategic partnerships to drive development impact. This is a full-time, international personnel service agreement for 9 months, offering a unique chance to contribute to global development through cutting-edge technology.

Tasks

  • Co-manage the Blockchain Acceleration Program, ensuring curriculum delivery and participant support.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Mentorship Methodology for accelerator participants.
  • Build and expand the UNDP blockchain ecosystem by connecting participants with mentors, investors, and partners.
  • Identify and secure funding opportunities for participant projects.
  • Engage with emerging technology partners and prepare partnership proposals for new blockchain initiatives.
  • Support the creation of communication materials like blog posts and success stories.
  • Develop continuation modalities and curriculum frameworks for the Blockchain Academy.
  • Implement e-learning strategies and user journeys for the Academy.
  • Monitor program progress, assess impact, and report to stakeholders.
  • Identify and document best practices and lessons learned from projects.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, International Relations, Global Studies, or a related field, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in the fields mentioned above combined with an additional 2 years of relevant experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years (with Master’s degree) or 4 years (with Bachelor’s degree) of professional experience in financial technologies.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring startups/NGOs in accelerator/incubator programs.
  • Experience working with diverse blockchain ecosystems and their applications (e.g., digital identity, supply chain, financial inclusion).
  • Experience collaborating with blockchain foundations or alliances.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic projects related to innovation, digitalization, and sustainable development.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Experience with UNDP or UN organizations, organizing webinars/events, leading hackathons, managing Blockchain Academy, or developing Mentorship Methodologies are advantageous.

Additional Information

This is an International Personnel Service Agreement (IPSA-9) position. The contract duration is 9 months, with a vacancy timeline of 2 weeks.
